

Capt. Ramon Duran has a combination of more than 17 years experience in the Marine Industry.
He has obtained experience in the following areas:
• Ship Management and Operations
• Port Management and Operations
• Port and Ship’s Security Management
• Shipbuilding (New Constructions and Repairs)
• Canadian Shipbuilding Strategy and Security Program
• Project Management
His experience and expertise was gained trough different positions in Seagoing vessels but major in the Offshore Marine Industry for oil and gas acting as Captain, Chief Officer and Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator. Furthermore Capt. Ramon also has worked as Operation Manager and Port Security Officer in Mexico and Canada where he obtained strong experience dealing with oil and gas facilities, cruise ship terminals among others.
Through his port and ship security roles he gained strong knowledge to comply with national and international regulations and to implement tactics and programs to prevent terrorism, narco-traffic and piracy.
Also during his career, Capt Ramon Duran has participated in shipbuilding projects working as Marine Surveyor and owners representative to supervise and give advise for designs and projects for new vessels and repairs.
For the last 5 years Capt. Ramon Duran has worked as an Independent marine consultant where he obtained knowledge in different fields including Canadian National Shipbuilding Strategy and Security Program among other projects for the private sector.
In 2003, Capt Ramon Duran obtained his certificate with the OMI program STCW/95, in 2010 he graduated as Marine Chief Officer and in 2015 he obtained his diploma in Master Business Administration for Ships and Port Management.
During his career Capt. Ramon Duran has been very passionate about the marine and port industry. For this reason he has worked very proactively with different nautical institutions, providing training and lectures to new generations.
